As a clinical chemist, I am responsible for ensuring that tests performed on blood and other body fluids in the clinical laboratories at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) are completed and properly interpreted. Although my work happens behind the scenes, the test results generated by our laboratories are vital to patient care; they help our clinicians make accurate diagnoses and develop optimal treatment plans for their patients. In addition to providing oversight of MSK’s clinical laboratories, I consult with clinicians to answer questions about test results and guide the selection of the most appropriate tests to diagnose or monitor a patient’s condition.
