Montreal-Rubbed Salmon

Baked Salmon with Montreal Spice Rub

This baked salmon is flavored with blend of spices traditionally used for steaks.

Adding dried or fresh herbs to your meals is a great way to reduce salt without losing flavor. This heart-healthy dish gets its name from Montreal spice rub, a blend of garlic, coriander, black pepper, cayenne, and dill.

Ingredients

½ tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
4 salmon filets (6 ounces each), skin removed
Grapeseed or coconut oil cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In small bowl, combine seasoning and brown sugar. Rub mixture into each salmon filet.
  3. Lightly coat sheet pan with cooking spray. Place fish on prepared pan and bake until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees using a meat thermometer, about 12 to 15 minutes. Let fish rest 2 minutes before serving.
