Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) was recently notified by one of our vendors, Nuance Communications, Inc. (“Nuance”), of a data security incident that affected Nuance. The incident was related to Nuance’s use of the MOVEit file transfer software. The incident occurred at Nuance and did not affect any of MSK’s computing or information systems. We have determined that the data involved in the Nuance incident contained personal information of some MSK patients. Nuance has mailed individual notification letters to patients whose information was affected by the Nuance incident, where contact information was available.
