Hey future TYs! Welcome to MSKCC! This is an amazing hospital and internship program! Not only will you learn internal medicine from some of the leaders in cancer research and clinical medicine, but you have the unique opportunity to structure your internship around your area of interest! For me, that meant doing electives in dermatology, rheumatology at Hospital for Special Surgery, and even spending a month doing dermatology research and getting to present my project at an international meeting in Paris! This would not have been possible as an intern at most other institutions! Not only is the faculty here amazing, but my co-interns have quickly become some of my closest friends. I’m heading to Harvard next year for my dermatology residency, but am so glad to have had the opportunity to live in NYC for a year!
