We know now that individuals who smoke clearly have a higher risk of developing complications and more severe COVID disease. // If you are thinking of quitting, now would be a fantastic time to do so.  So, not only is smoking associated with more severe disease and there's some interesting data that suggest, for example, that nicotine may increase the amount of the receptor on lung epithelial cells that binds to the virus.
