Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Intensive Care Unit was recently selected as the recipient of the 2009 ICU Design Citation Award. Co-sponsored by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the American Institute of Architects Academy on Architecture for Health, the award is given to centers whose ICU combines functional design with the humanitarian delivery of critical care. In April 2007, Memorial Sloan Kettering completed extensive renovations to its main campus space, which features 18,000 square feet of state-of-the-art equipment.
