Description
The news that you or a loved one is facing a serious illness like cancer, can leave us all feeling worried and afraid. Going through cancer treatment, while also facing the challenges of daily living, can feel like “too much”. Mindfulness meditation is a mind-body skill you can learn to reduce stress, build resilience, and remain calm when feeling anxious. Learning about meditation and how to nurture a mindfulness practice can help you from getting caught up in worries and regain a feeling of control over running thoughts about what may or may not happen.
In this four-week series, taught by a MSK mind-body therapist, this class is designed to help you to be fully present and aware of our feelings, our actions, and our surroundings, and not be overwhelmed by what is going on around us. You will learn guided meditation practices that can help cultivate moments of grounding and calm during a stressful time.
Audience
This class is open to people who have been treated for cancer and their caregivers.
