Description
Most of us feel compassion for our close friends when they are struggling. What would it be like to receive the same caring attention from yourself when you need it most?
This six-week live virtual course program is designed to help participants people impacted by cancer cultivate self-compassion, one of the greatest resources for coping and resilience that we have available to us. Participants You will learn and practice the two sides of self-compassion: the gentle side (comforting, soothing, and nurturing) and the equally important fierce side that involves protecting, providing for, and motivating ourselves. Both sides together can help us steady ourselves in the midst of uncertainty, treat ourselves with more kindness, soothe and diffuse challenging emotions, and encourage us to take action on our own behalf.
In each class, an MSK mind-body instructor will present on a topic related to self-compassion, lead meditations and exercises, and facilitate discussion.
