Principles of Flow Cytometry

This course runs for 4 hours (1-5 PM).

This course covers the fundamental concepts of Flow Cytometry, from understanding how a flow cytometer works and what it measures, to learning important concepts in experimental planning, execution, and analysis particular to Flow Cytometry. It is intended for anyone who is curious and wants to learn more about Flow Cytometry as an analytical technique, as well as researchers who want to understand how to better use it in their projects. A basic background in science is helpful, but not required. For MSKCC researchers who wish to use our instruments, this class is the first part of the Flow Cytometry Core Facility’s mandatory training program for new independent users, which also requires at least one hands-on session with the FCCF staff after completing the course.
