Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and Bright Horizons, the nation’s largest provider of employer-sponsored childcare, recently opened a new, state-of-the-art childcare facility for exclusive use of MSK employees. Located only a few short blocks from MSK’s flagship location on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the center, which opened in mid-February, will serve children across four age categories ranging from infancy to pre-school.

“Working parents face many challenges today and we’re proud to be able to help support our staff who manage the dual role of parent/guardian and MSK employee,” said Leslie Ballantyne, Vice President, HR Legal & Regulatory Affairs. “Our unwavering commitment to our employees inspired us to initially partner with Bright Horizons many years ago, ensuring our staff have access to high-quality childcare especially during those early developmental years. This new center reaffirms our commitment to building and maintaining a supportive and caring workplace.”

MSK and Bright Horizons joined forces more than 20 years ago so that the hospital could support its growing workforce by offering additional childcare options. In addition to emergency/backup care for all employees, Bright Horizons also operates a facility for staff who live in MSK housing on Roosevelt Island. This newest offering is not only convenient, but the program’s carefully crafted educational approach is tailored and built around a philosophy that helps build confidence and excitement in children for learning at every age and stage.
