Howah Hung, JD, is an Assistant General Counsel and serves as the Lead Counsel for Research and Industrial Collaborations. He and his team provide legal advice on, and negotiate contracts for, a variety of research and intellectual property matters, including technology transfer, collaborative and sponsored research, technology transactions, data transfers, copyright and software licensing, core facility services, drug manufacturing, and publicity releases.
Howah joined MSK in 2015. Prior to MSK, Howah was principal of Hung, PLLC, a law firm focused on business transactions, software/IT licensing, copyright and trademark matters, and real property transactions. Before founding the firm in 2013, he served as a contracts officer and attorney at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, from 2009 to 2013. During law school, he was an extern for the Honorable Kevin Nathaniel Fox, U.S.M.J. in the S.D.N.Y., an Associate Editor of the Environmental Law Journal, and a summer associate at a large New York law firm.
Howah is admitted to the New York State bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received his JD degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 2009. He holds a BA degree in chemistry from the New York University College of Arts and Sciences.
