Howah Hung, JD, is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of Technology Development (OTD). His practice focuses primarily on intellectual property matters and research agreements. He and his team of three attorneys review and negotiate contracts that support preclinical research, retrospective studies, and software licensing, and assist in transactional and litigation matters grounded in intellectual property.
Howah joined MSK in 2015 and supported the OTD’s Contracts Unit previously in the roles of Senior Contract Analyst and Staff Attorney. Prior to MSK, Howah was principal of Hung, PLLC, a law firm based in New York City, where he represented clients in intellectual property licensing and acquisition, with a focus on the medical and IT sectors, and negotiated a wide range of business agreements. Before founding the firm in 2013, he served as a contracts officer and attorney at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, from 2009 to 2013.
Howah is admitted to the New York State bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received his JD degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 2009. He holds a BA degree in chemistry from the New York University College of Arts and Sciences.
