Shelly Anderson, MPM, is the Hospital President of Memorial Sloan Kettering. She joined MSK from Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston, where she was a member of the executive leadership team since 2011, and most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
As the Hospital President at MSK, Anderson is responsible for planning, executing, and leading a broad range of operational functions. This includes overseeing the operations of Memorial Hospital and ensuring seamless coordination in cancer care across MSK’s expanding outpatient network, with locations in Brooklyn, Westchester County, Long Island, and New Jersey. In addition, Anderson drives the integration of patient care, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and outstanding patient experience and outcomes across the clinical enterprise.
Anderson served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at BWH. In that role, she was responsible for the operations of the academic medical center, a community hospital, three large ambulatory care centers, and a physician organization. Additionally, in partnership with Dana-Farber, she oversaw operations for the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Innovation and Chief Strategy Officer, where she collaborated with other BWH leaders to design and execute strategic initiatives, designed and led the Active Asset Management program, and worked to innovate best practices and facilitate organizational accountability.
Before joining BWH, Anderson worked for several years in healthcare consulting. She earned a master’s degree in policy management at Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree at Concordia College.
