There have been tremendous advances in this field over the past decade, and several new drugs are available or in development to manage these conditions. With my colleagues at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I have focused on developing and optimizing new approaches to treat these diseases, including both new drugs and new strategies to improve patients’ outcomes.

I am a surgical pathologist who subspecializes in tumors of the kidneys and urinary bladder, prostate, testis, and adrenal gland. My clinical roles include diagnostic work, training pathology fellows, and active participation in patient care as a part of the genitourinary disease management team. My current research efforts are focused on investigating specific genes and genetic alterations implicated in the development of prostate cancer. We hope to integrate the understanding gained from this research with clinical and pathologic features of the disease in an effort to improve diagnosis and treatment stratification.
