Although exercise has been shown to benefit people during and after cancer treatment, survivors can face a number of unique issues that should be considered before planning an exercise regimen. Annelise Savodnik, a physical therapist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, explains safety issues if you have lymphedema, bony metastasis, osteoporosis, brain tumors, loss of sensation in the extremities, or low blood cell counts.
