Dr. Babak Givi treats head and neck cancers, including thyroid, salivary gland, mouth, throat, larynx, and skin, using minimally invasive surgery at MSK in Manhattan, MSK Bergen, and MSK Monmouth.
I was five when I broke my collarbone and seven when I broke my leg. Last year, I completed the New York City Marathon for the 11th time, and hiked the Sierra Mountains, thanks to the skilled orthopedic surgeons who fixed my broken bone. Those experiences left a lasting impression and shaped my desire to become a surgeon.
Hi, I’m Dr. Babak Givi, a surgical oncologist specializing in head and neck surgery and oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I have always been drawn to delicate structures and complex problems. The anatomy of the head and neck is incredibly intricate, and the surgical precision required makes every case unique. Whether treating cancers of the mouth, voice box, thyroid or skin of the face, or when I treat non-cancerous conditions like salivary gland stones, my goal is to provide the best care but make sure that my patients feel heard, respected, and in control of their journey.
I understand a cancer diagnosis comes with uncertainty, fear, and many questions. I want my patients to know there is a path forward, and together, we will navigate it. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, we offer the most advanced cancer care in the world, and I work tirelessly to offer my patients the most modern and the least invasive treatments possible.
But at the end it's all about the human connection and we are here to offer you a helping hand.
