I’ve always loved research and biology. When a close friend was diagnosed with cancer in college, I started down the path that led me to MSK.

Hi, I’m Dr. Marsha Reyngold, a radiation oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I care for people with gastrointestinal cancers, especially those affecting the pancreas and liver, as well as breast cancer.

When it comes to radiation, I’m always looking for the best approach for each patient. New technology allows us to target the cancers more precisely, avoiding healthy tissue and minimizing your side effects.

I lead clinical studies at MSK and nationally that improve how we use radiation, helping us choose the right type and dose for your particular tumor.

Everyone is different. Some of my patients want to know every fact relating to their diagnosis. Others only want to focus on what comes next. I will get to know you and what you prefer, so our conversations leave you feeling informed, not overwhelmed.

In my free time, I like to ski. On the mountains, conditions can change quickly. Cancer treatment can be that way too. If something unexpected happens, we'll regroup and decide on the next steps together, based on the best science available.

What inspires me everyday is the grace my patients show during a difficult time. Whatever I can do to make it easier for you, I will. Finding better treatments for you and other patients is deeply personal to me. Nothing is more important.
