Dr. Garrett Nash cares for people with gastrointestinal cancers at MSK, including colon, rectal, neuroendocrine, and mesothelioma, using minimally invasive surgery.
I grew up in Ireland before moving to the US where I pursued my passion for medicine and managing rare and aggressive cancers. Hi, I'm Dr. Garrett Nash, a surgical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I focus on metastatic cancers of the colon, appendix, rectum, anus, and peritoneum, as well as robotic colorectal surgery.
Cancer that has traveled within the body is often treated with a complex and lengthy surgery that is as unique as the person being treated. My partner and I frequently collaborate on a type of surgery called cytoreductive surgery, the goal of which is to remove all visible signs of cancer from the abdominal cavity and allow chemotherapy to kill any remaining microscopic cancer cells.
To continue to discover new treatment options, we've designed and conducted clinical trials for cancers that have spread on the peritoneal surfaces, including colon and appendix cancer and mesothelioma.
I also serve Memorial Sloan Kettering as the Vice President for Quality and Safety. Our primary mission is to ensure the safety of our patients while delivering the highest quality care. Nothing comes before that.
As a husband and father of five active children, I place a high value on building meaningful relationships. This includes my patients. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, you can count on receiving excellent clinical care each step of your cancer journey, with me standing right there beside you.
