Hello, I’m Dr. Jae Park, a leukemia specialist and Chief of the Cellular Therapy Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

I begin my relationship with my patients by talking through the basics: Exactly what is leukemia? What is it doing in your body? What happens next? I’ll listen, answer your questions, and make sure the information always feels clear and not overwhelming.

It’s also important for you to know that cancer care never involves just one doctor. At MSK, you will have an entire team working hard to coordinate all the moving parts of your treatment plan, every one of us with the same goal: helping you feel better.

There are so many reasons to be optimistic. Cellular therapy is one of the fastest-growing areas in cancer treatment. It uses your body’s own immune cells to fight cancer and has helped so many people. New clinical trials and FDA-approved therapies could be an option for you too.

When I receive a holiday card or photo from one of my patients who has gone on to have a family, a happy life, that is something I treasure deeply. That’s the result all of us at MSK work toward.
