Dr. Kathryn Arbour cares for people with lung cancer at MSK, combining immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and clinical trials to build a plan that fits each patient’s life.
I grew up loving science, but what drew me to medicine wasn’t just being in the lab. It was working with people. I’ve always wanted to guide patients through their most challenging moments.
Hi, I’m Dr. Kathryn Arbour, a thoracic medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I treat lung cancer and work closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, and our amazing team of nurses.
The most meaningful part of my work is getting to know my patients as people. I want to hear about your family, your hobbies, and what brings you joy. How can we design a plan that helps you keep living the life you want?
My philosophy is simple: cancer care works best when we function as a team, which is why MSK is such a special place. You don’t have just one doctor; you have many, each with a different specialty. We all collaborate to make sure you’re receiving the very best and latest treatment.
This also means you have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials at MSK, which can give you access to new treatments that may not be available elsewhere.
I want you to keep living well as much as possible. We will face challenges together, and we will stay focused on what matters most in your life.
