Hi, I'm Dr. Raajit Rampal, a leukemia specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I care for patients with leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms, or MPN, and other associated blood malignancies.

MPN is a rare blood cancer where the bone marrow produces far more cells than the body needs. This excess of red cells, white cells, or platelets can lead to blood clots, bleeding, or problems with the spleen.

When you come to see me, I’ll explain the specifics of your cancer in clear terms. We'll discuss every treatment option available, including clinical trials that may give you an opportunity to receive something new and only available at MSK. We will make decisions about your care, together, based on what’s best for you.

I came to MSK because there's a unique culture here I've never found anywhere else. Everyone is totally focused on you. You may think it goes without saying that a hospital should focus on the patients, but the feeling at MSK is different. You can see it at every level, from the people who greet you at the door, to the staff scheduling appointments, and of course to the doctors and nurses involved in your care.

We all want to make the experience of being treated for cancer as easy and positive for you as possible.
