Dr. Richard Wong is Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at MSK, caring for people with thyroid, oral, salivary, skin, and larynx cancers while preserving speech and swallowing.

My father was a physician, and from an early age I admired the meticulous and compassionate way he cared for people. He was devoted to delivering the best treatment and to seeing his patients recover. Now, I strive to bring those values into my own practice.

Hi, I’m Dr. Richard Wong, the Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I care for patients with many types of tumors including thyroid, salivary, oral, and skin cancers.

In medical school, I was drawn to head and neck surgery because of how profoundly it can impact a person’s identity, including appearance, voice, speech, and swallowing. I am committed to preserving your normal function while delivering the best care possible.

I’ve been at MSK my entire career, and what makes this place so special is the team. Cancer care is never about one doctor or surgeon. It’s about a group of experts working together to find the best treatment plan for each person. That spirit of collaboration and compassion is something I see every day, and it’s what I want you to experience the moment you walk through our doors.
