Dr. Xin Wang treats acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) at MSK in New York City, using targeted therapies and clinical trials to advance your care.

If you have just been diagnosed, you may feel like leukemia defines your future, but it does not have to. Dr. Wang brings a deeply curious, compassionate approach to every conversation, taking the time to understand not just your blood counts but what matters most to you and your family. At MSK, she partners with a team that is relentlessly pushing leukemia care forward through rapidly advancing targeted therapies and clinical trials, so you have access to the next generation of treatment options.

I recently saw a sign in clinic that said, “Cancer is a word, not a sentence.” That expression rings so true in my practice because it means, while leukemia is serious, it does not have to define you.

Hello, my name is Dr. Xin Wang, and I’m a leukemia specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

By nature, I'm a curious person. That curiosity shapes everything I do in research and in patient care. I ask questions constantly about the disease, new treatments, and the people I care for. I want to understand not only what is happening with your blood counts, but what matters most to you and your family.

Leukemias are fast-moving and complex, and historically associated with poor outcomes, but leukemia treatment is one of the most rapidly advancing fields in cancer care. Over the past decade, the development of lower-intensity regimens and new targeted therapies have transformed what's possible, many of which happened at MSK.

This spirit of discovery is shared every day and in every department. We do not settle for what is already known. We keep pushing for what comes next.

My role is to bring that same mindset to your care – to look carefully, think deeply, and search relentlessly for better answers, so you and your family can feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout your care journey.
