The MSK ID fellowship is a fantastic training ground for individuals interested in immunocompromised host ID. The integration of molecular diagnostic tests and the rapid discovery of pathogens is clearly a novel science that will be fostered in the next decade. We have an active research program in this area, and integrating microbiota science into infectious disease care is clearly a future priority to improve infectious outcomes in patients with cancer and other immunocompromised groups.

I chose MSK because I really enjoy taking care of cancer patients, and when you meet a patient, you're not just usually meeting the patient, but you're meeting a whole community of people surrounding the patient and supporting them. I think the biggest strength of the ID program is the faculty, the collaborative nature, with all the faculty and the oncologists. And that was obvious to me from my first interview.
I wanted a very unique training experience. It's the number one cancer institute, so you'll see lots of fascinating cases that you wouldn't see anywhere else.
