Located within a 16-story building at 300 East 66th Street, between First and Second Avenues, the new Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center has been designed to create a therapeutic setting in which breast cancer is recognized as a treatable and often curable disease.
The Breast Center provides pioneering, comprehensive breast cancer prevention, diagnostic, treatment, and support services that go beyond the standard of care, all under one roof. The facility, designed to make the patient experience less daunting and to enhance interaction between patients and their care team, empowers patients to become active partners in their own care.
The design also reflects the evolving modalities in the treatment of breast cancer, including new diagnostic technologies, less invasive surgery, molecular pathology, more effective chemotherapies, new targeted treatments, vaccine development, and an emphasis on prevention.
