Full Title
Pilot Trial of Telehealth Music Therapy for Cognitive Dysfunction in Hematologic Cancer Survivors (PRELUDE)Purpose
Cancer and its treatment can cause problems with attention, memory, and learning. These cognitive difficulties may affect your daily activities and worsen your quality of life.
Researchers are doing this study to see if music therapy is a practical treatment for cognitive difficulties in survivors of blood cancers. Examples of these cancers include lymphoma, leukemia, and multiple myeloma.
During the study, a trained therapist engages participants in activities like guided music listening or learning to play the piano. All sessions with the therapist will be telehealth visits.
Researchers will see how practical this treatment is by looking at how many participants complete their sessions with the therapist. They will also see if music therapy may help improve cognitive function and other symptoms like anxiety, depression, and tiredness.
