It's important that your healthcare team knows all of the medications you're taking and entering your medications into MyMSK while you're at home will make it easier to make sure you don't forget anything.
If you don't see your medication in the drop-down list, try looking for the generic name.
The generic name is on the label of the pill bottle or box that it came in.
If you're looking for a prescription medication name, where you'll find it depends on which pharmacy you use. It's often the first name listed, and it may be larger or darker than the brand name. But sometimes, it's listed in parentheses below the brand name.
For over-the-counter medications, it's often written in smaller letters below the brand name. If it's not there, check the drug facts label on the side or back of the bottle or box. It will be listed as either the active ingredient or generic name.
If you can't find it or you're not sure, ask your pharmacist or other healthcare provider.
