At Memorial Sloan Kettering, we are often asked to provide a second opinion of a breast imaging diagnosis that was made by doctors outside of MSK. If you would like to receive a second opinion from an MSK radiologist, you can submit your imaging results by mail or in person.
What do I need to provide to receive a breast imaging second opinion from MSK?
Please provide:
- a copy of your photo identification (such as a driver’s license)
- a copy of both sides of your insurance card
- your current breast imaging (within the past six months), as well as a minimum of two years of earlier images on a CD and the corresponding written reports
- a prescription from your referring doctor requesting a second opinion review
How do I submit my materials?
Materials can be dropped off in person or sent via FedEx or UPS to:
MSK Breast and Imaging Center
Attn: Second Opinion Program
300 East 66 Street, 5th Floor
New York, NY 10065
What happens next?
We will confirm that we have received your package and within three to five business days an MSK radiologist will review your materials and fax your doctor a report. We will call you when our review is completed so you can contact your referring doctor to discuss the results.
If further imaging is recommended by your physician, please call us at 646-888-5349 and we will schedule you for an appointment at MSK.
After the imaging review is completed, we will return all of your materials to you.
MSK does not render second opinions on negative/normal reports.
