Barre Basics



Join this beginner-level online barre class taught by an MSK dance/movement therapist to improve your balance and flexibility. Each class will break down the building blocks of movement using a combination of postures inspired by ballet, jazz, and Pilates. With a focus on strengthening, alignment, and mobility, Barre Basics will help tone your body and improve your range of motion so you can move with confidence. 


This class is open to people who have been treated for cancer and their caregivers.

This class is taught online through Zoom, a videoconference system.

You Will Need:

  • A chair
  • And a set of light (1 to 3 pounds) handheld weights or resistance bands. 
  • A computer, tablet such as an iPad, or a smartphone with a high-speed Internet connection.
  • A webcam, speaker, and microphone. If you do not have a microphone and speaker, you can participate in the class by phone. You will receive the phone number once you register.
  • Google Chrome or Firefox as your browser.

What to Wear:

  • Comfortable loose fitting clothing, such as yoga or sweat pants and a tee-shirt.
