The Dynamic Nature of Patient Goals of Care

The Patient and Family Advisory Council for Quality (PFACQ), in partnership with the Division of Quality and Safety invites you to join a special panel discussion on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 about patient goals of care.

Patient-centered care involves incorporating patient values, daily priorities, and goals of care into shared decision-making at all points along the patient journey.   In a moderated discussion, PFACQ will bring together MSK clinicians as well as patient and caregiver representatives, to discuss the importance of developing an ongoing dialog regarding goals of care, patient values, and daily activities throughout the patient journey.  By prioritizing these clinician-patient conversations, promoting a common language, and highlighting the fact that patient experiences and their goals of care often change through time, we seek to advance new, collaborative approaches to improving the patient’s overall experience managing cancer care.
