Description
The lymphatic system is essential for healthy body functioning. The use of a specialized massage technique known as Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), exercises, and gentle movement, can help support and optimize lymphatic flow. In this workshop, an MSK fitness instructor will teach you exercises and gentle movements to improve posture and strengthen and support the upper back and shoulders. An MSK massage therapist will demonstrate the basic MLD sequence. The use of MLD as part of a self-care routine, can help promote better lymphatic flow for those without lymphedema and often helps extend the benefits of lymphedema therapy for those that have been diagnosed and treated in rehab, a lymphatic clinic, or private practice. Anyone interested in learning how to support the lymphatic system is welcome to attend. You do not need to have a lymphedema diagnosis to perform self-MLD.
