After receiving lifesaving neurotoxic chemotherapy, many people develop a painful condition called chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, or CIPN. Research conducted at MSK has demonstrated yoga is a movement activity that can help reduce the tingling, numbness, and pain that is common with a CIPN diagnosis. In this workshop, you will hear from Dr. Ting Bao, the Director of Integrative Breast Oncology at MSK and lead investigator on these studies. Two MSK yoga instructors will teach a series of gentle yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to help reduce CIPN symptoms, increase range of motion, and improve balance.
Audience
This workshop is open to people who have been treated for cancer and their caregivers. It is designed for people who have been diagnosed with CIPN and people receiving chemotherapy that may cause CIPN.
