A Study Assessing Quality of Life in People with Skin Conditions Due to Cancer or Its Treatment

Quality of Life (QoL) Assessment in Cancer Patients and Survivors with Dermatologic Conditions Using Dermatologic QoL Instruments

Purpose

Skin (dermatologic) conditions are common in people who are receiving or have received cancer treatment. Sometimes the condition is related to the cancer, and sometimes it is related to cancer treatment. In either case, skin conditions can affect a person’s quality of life.

The purpose of this study is to assess how skin conditions affect a patient’s overall well-being. Patients with skin conditions will be asked to complete at least one questionnaire about their skin condition and how it affected their quality of life. If they receive treatment for skin conditions, they will also be asked to complete questionnaires after treatment is completed. Family members will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire about how they felt about the patient’s skin condition.

The researchers hope that the findings from this study will improve the understanding and treatment of skin conditions in cancer patients and survivors.

Who Can Join

This study includes people ages 3 and older with skin conditions due to cancer and/or its treatment, as well as their family members.
