Dr. Eric Sherman treats head and neck cancers at MSK with a focus on metastatic thyroid cancer, offering trials and targeted therapies that prioritize quality of life.

As a father, coaching my kids’ soccer teams is not only exciting, but also fulfilling. The same thing goes for my work here at MSK. I'm proud to have an impact on my patients.

Hi, I'm Dr. Eric Sherman, a medical oncologist specializing in head and neck cancers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and I have a particular focus on metastatic thyroid cancer.

One of oncology’s most pressing questions is why some cancers resist treatment. My research focuses on ways to overcome those challenges so that we’re able to deliver you the best treatments while maintaining your quality of life.

At MSK, we’re constantly testing ways to make treatment easier on you. By lowering radiation and chemotherapy doses, it’s possible to reduce both short- and long-term side effects.

It may surprise you that metastatic thyroid cancer doesn't always require immediate treatment. In many cases, we can closely monitor your disease and delay it.

Whether we’re exploring targeted therapies, immunotherapy, or clinical trials, you always have options here. You’ll receive the same level of care I would want for my own family.
