Dr. Nadeem Riaz tailors radiation for people with head and neck cancers at MSK, using advanced techniques to preserve speech, swallowing, and quality of life.
Hi, I’m Dr. Nadeem Riaz, a head and neck radiation oncologist and physician-scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
I chose this field because it lets me use cutting-edge science and technology to help people through one of the hardest chapters of their lives. Head and neck cancers touch how we speak, swallow, taste, and breathe – the things that make us who we are. My job is to treat the cancer effectively while protecting as much of you as possible.
From day one, you won’t be doing this alone. I work closely with a gifted team of colleagues, and together we’ll build a comprehensive, personalized plan that fits your tumor’s biology.
In our visit, I’ll walk you through every recommendation I make and the “why” behind it, in plain language, no jargon. We won’t leave my office until you and your family feel completely comfortable in the plan moving forward.
When it comes to radiation, precision matters. We use modern, image-guided techniques to shape the dose around your tumor and spare critical structures such as the salivary glands and the muscles that control speech and swallowing.
And care doesn’t stop when radiation ends. We’ll plan for recovery from day one so you can get back to the life you love. Let's talk about your best path forward.
