Nadeem Riaz, MD, MSc
Radiation Oncologist & Early Drug Development Specialist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Associate Director, Genomics Operations, Immunogenomics and Precision Oncology Platform
I am a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating head and neck cancers.
I have extensive experience with advanced techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy, image-guided radiation therapy, and stereotactic body radiotherapy. These techniques allow me to offer my patients highly effective radiation therapy with minimal side effects.

I chose my career in medicine and radiation oncology because it allows me to use cutting-edge science and technology to help people through a very difficult time in their lives.
I work closely with a team of surgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and medical physicists. We provide each patient with a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan. I spend a significant amount of time with my patients and their families discussing treatment recommendations and the reasons behind each one. We won’t leave my office until everyone is comfortable and confident with the plan moving forward.
My research looks at how the genetics of a tumor influence its response to traditional therapies and newer treatments, like immunotherapies. I utilize my background in computer science and biomedical informatics to study patterns of abnormalities in a tumor’s genome. This information can help indicate which treatment type the tumor might be most susceptible to.
We are actively working on bringing these cancer genome analyses to more patients so that we can better personalize radiation therapy and immunotherapy treatments.
A radiation oncologist is a cancer doctor with special training in using radiation therapy (RT) to treat cancer with radiation.
An early drug development specialist tests new drugs to treat cancer. They have special training in research studies, known as clinical trials.
