Dr. Paul Paik treats people with lung cancer at MSK, offering compassionate care, clinical trials, and new therapies for patients with squamous cell carcinoma.

As a child of first-generation immigrants, my father, a doctor in South Korea, inspired my desire early on to care for others in their time of need.

Hi, I'm Dr. Paul Paik, a thoracic medical oncologist here at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I treat people with lung cancer. For me, cancer medicine is a calling and is core to my sense of humanity.

Together, we will explore your options, based on what you want to do and what our expertise can offer you. Research and clinical trials are ongoing here at MSK, and as a result, there are always new options for treatment. We conduct groundbreaking work that offers promising new therapies to eliminate lung cancer and stop it from spreading to other areas of the body.

When we meet, I’ll come in prepared to give you the time you need to talk about your goals and expectations, and to address your questions and worries. I view myself as a shepherd to make sure you have all of the resources you need.

I enjoy the simple things in life, like traveling the U.S. with my wife and kids, participating in our church community, fishing, and reading and writing. My goal is to help you get through this so you can get back to living the fullest life possible. That’s why I come to work every day.
