Women with a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes are at increased risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. However, the cancer risk estimates for these gene mutations are currently wide-ranging and non-specific. A new form of genetic testing, called "genetic risk modifier testing," may give women with BRCA1/2 gene mutations more specific estimates of their risk of developing breast cancer.
Researchers are seeking the best dose of mRNA-4203 to give with a cellular therapy in people with melanoma or sarcoma. The cellular therapy is called IMA203 and is custom-made from each patient's white blood cells.
Researchers want to see if ficerafusp alfa plus pembrolizumab is safe and works well against head and neck cancer. They will assess different doses of ficerafusp alfa to find the best one. The people in this study have head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Their cancers have come back or metastasized (spread) after treatment.
Padeliporfin VTP (vascular targeted photodynamic) therapy uses targeted laser light to destroy cancer cells while causing minimal damage to the tissues around the cancer. In this study, researchers want to learn if padeliporfin VTP therapy is effective and safe for people with low-grade upper urothelial cancers (tumors of the kidney or ureter) that have not spread.
People with endometrial cancer often gain weight during and after chemotherapy. Medicines to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction for people receiving chemotherapy can also raise blood sugar. Weight gain can affect overall health and cancer recovery.
Bone scans, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are imaging tests used to assess the spread of cancer in the body and to determine whether anticancer treatments are working. Even with these tests, however, it is sometimes difficult to find exactly where the cancer is located and to determine whether it is growing or shrinking in response to treatment. This difficulty is particularly apparent in patients with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to the bones, as standard CT, MRI, as bone scans are not accurate in assessing cancer in the bones.
Researchers want to find the best dose of TORL-1-23 to use in people with advanced solid tumors. The people in this study have solid tumors that have spread and cannot be successfully treated with standard therapies.
The purpose of this study is to find the highest dose of the drug alectinib that can be given safely in children and adolescents with solid tumors or brain and spinal cord cancers that persist after treatment and have a genetic change called an ALK gene fusion. With this gene fusion, the ALK gene attaches to part of another gene.
Breast cancer (TNBC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that spread to other parts of the body (metastasize) are usually treated with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and/or radiation therapy. In this study, researchers want to see if using stereotactic body radiosurgery (SBRT) to all metastatic tumors plus standard therapy is more effective than standard therapy alone in patients with oligometastatic TNBC or NSCLC (five or fewer metastatic tumors).
ABBV-324 is a type of drug called an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). ADCs are composed of an antibody made from a specific cell line chemically linked to a drug. The antibody binds to specific proteins on certain types of cells, including cancer cells. The linked drug enters these cells and destroys them, with a lower risk of harming other cells. ABBV-324 is given intravenously (by vein).
