Anna Zampini, MD, MS, MBA
We post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Get to Know Me
I’m a urologic surgeon who cares for people with kidney stones, bladder stones, and other urologic cancers.
I provide expert care for several conditions affecting the urinary tract, including:
- Ureteral and kidney cancers: I treat rare cancers that start in the inner lining of the kidneys or the ureters (the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder). These are called urothelial carcinoma of the ureters or the kidney.
- Kidney and bladder stones: Solid deposits of minerals that form inside the kidneys, ureters, or bladder.
- Ureteral strictures: A narrowing of the ureter that can block urine flow and damage the kidneys if left untreated.
I see patients at Memorial Hospital, the main hospital at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), and at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at MSK in New York City.
Kidney stones affect up to 11 percent of people in the United States. My goal is to provide complete care for patients with this condition.
I’m an expert in endourology, which uses minimally invasive techniques to treat urologic conditions. These techniques include:
- Percutaneous renal surgery, also called percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL): This involves removing large kidney stones through a tiny incision in the back.
- Ureteroscopy: Using a thin, flexible scope called a ureteroscope with lasers or baskets to locate and break up and remove stones or treat tumors.
My research focuses on understanding why kidney stones develop. I also study new surgical techniques and the financial costs of kidney stone care.
Before joining MSK, I was a staff endourologist and served as the Vice Chair of Safety, Quality and Patient Experience for the Cleveland Clinic Department of Urology. Patient safety and offering the best patient care remain my top priorities.
I'm a urologic surgeon, which is a doctor with special training in surgery on the genitourinary (jeh-nih-toh-YOOR-ih-nayr-ee) (GU) system. This includes the bladder, kidney, penis, prostate, and testicles.
