I am a physician who specializes in the development and interpretation of diagnostic tests on cancer tissue such as brain and gastrointestinal tumors. I work closely with colleagues from surgical oncology, clinical bioinformatics, and medical oncology to establish accurate diagnoses that enable personalized and targeted therapies for people with these tumors. I have board certifications in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and molecular genetic pathology.

After majoring in computer science and bioinformatics, I pursued a career in medicine with a vision to use mathematical and computational techniques to better understand, diagnose, and treat disease. My research has focused on the development and validation of new lab test methods based on DNA profiling technology and the application of machine learning techniques to large medical data sets.
