Follow-Up Care & Support

Our medical staff understands that fighting cancer can be overwhelming. Our experts are skilled in identifying and treating the various symptoms and complications associated with the treatment of cancer of unknown primary origin, including the emotional and psychological aspects of living with this disease.

Rehabilitation Therapy

If you have been undergoing cancer treatment, rehabilitation therapy can help to improve your quality of life. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, physical therapists work closely with the medical team to improve your strength and endurance after surgery or medical treatments.

We offer valuable techniques to increase your mobility without causing additional pain and discomfort, and teach energy-conserving techniques that can help decrease the fatigue you may experience during your treatment. Our occupational therapists can inform you about the changes you may experience, and about adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques that can increase your independence. We can also provide guidance in performing basic daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and moving around your environment.

See Rehabilitation for further information about our services, including appointment information.

We offer a number of complementary therapies including various types of massage, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, meditation, visualization and other mind-body therapies, music therapy, and nutritional counseling, as well as classes such as yoga, t’ai chi, and chair aerobics.

Help for Older Patients
