While undergoing cancer treatment, you may spend a significant amount of time at Memorial Sloan Kettering for appointments and procedures.
We invite you to explore our activities that encourage relaxation and provide distractions. Many are made possible through the efforts of our staff and volunteers.
- Art Therapy & Workshops
Current and former Memorial Sloan Kettering patients can express themselves creatively through art therapy sessions or our art workshop series.
- Music Therapy
Music therapy draws on the power of sound to help patients and their caregivers cope with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and promote a sense of well-being and relaxation.
- Caring Canines
Since 2007, our dedicated teams of therapy dogs and trained owners and handlers have visited hundreds of people undergoing treatment for cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
- Charles Hallac Patient Recreation Center
Adult patients and their visitors can find arts and crafts activities, playing cards and board games, and more in our recreation area.
- Look Good Feel Better
In this program, professional makeup artists help women and men undergoing treatment for cancer to experience the emotional lift that can come from looking one’s best.
- Writing Program: Visible Ink
This popular writing program offers patients the opportunity to tell their stories within a positive, supportive structure.
- Teen and Young Adult Program
TYA @MSK gives patients between the ages of 16 and young adulthood a way to connect – and a space to hang out and be themselves.
