Francesca M. Gany Named a 2022 Grant Recipient by Prevent Cancer Foundation

Francesca M. Gany, MD, MS, Chief, Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service, was awarded a grant from the Prevent Cancer Foundation to increase colorectal cancer screening among underserved communities in New York City. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization solely dedicated to cancer prevention and early detection and supports research that demonstrates potential for impact on cancer prevention.
Saad Z. Usmani Appointed Chair of the Myeloma Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology

Saad Z. Usmani, MD, MBA, FACP, Chief, Myeloma Service, was appointed Chair of the Myeloma Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. As an expert in the development of novel therapies for myeloma and related diseases, Dr. Usmani has been an outstanding contributor to the Alliance and conducts studies addressing the role of minimal residual disease in understanding disease natural history and in guiding treatment decisions.
Andrea Schietinger Receives the 2022 American Association of Immunologists BD Biosciences Investigator Award

Elli Papaemmanuil, PhD, Assistant Attending and Associate Director for the Center of Hematological Malignancies and Santosha A. Vardhana, MD, PhD, Medical Oncologist, received the 2022 Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation-Rachleff Innovation Award. The Innovation Award is established to support “high-risk, high-reward” ideas with the potential to significantly impact the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of cancer.
