The May 4 session of “MSK Science Spotlight” will feature series host, Andrea Schietinger, PhD, Assistant Member, Immunology Program, SKI, presenting her own research, “Decoding T Cell Dysfunction in Tumors.” Dr. Schietinger, a former winner of the prestigious National Institutes of Health Director’s New Innovator Award, has served as host for past sessions of the online seminar series for the scientific community.
When she’s not hosting “MSK Science Spotlight” along with colleagues Omar Abdel-Wahab, Associate Member in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program (HOPP); Danwei Huangfu, Associate Professor; and Tuomas Tammela, an Assistant Member; cancer immunologist, Dr. Schietinger investigates immune responses to cancer, molecular mechanisms underlying tumor-induced T cell dysfunction, and new approaches for cancer immunotherapy.
