Current Fellows

Kate Fodor, 1st year resident (2023-2026):

Kate graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 and has been a veterinarian for the U.S. Army since that time. Her clinical experience primarily relates to companion animal medicine, as well as small ruminants and equine species. At her last job, Kate had animal oversight and was involved in the federal IACUC. She has a wide array of clinical interests, including infectious diseases, public health and pain management.

Glory Leung, 2nd year resident (2022-2025):

Glory is from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where he completed an undergraduate degree in Applied Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia. During his time in undergrad, he conducted lymphatic research at the University of Calgary as part of a co-op term where he was exposed to various research models and laboratory animal medicine. He obtained his DVM from The Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan before moving to New York for this residency. His interests lies in aquatics and rodents and hopes to widen the field of laboratory animal medicine back home in Canada. In his free time, he enjoys learning new languages, hiking, karaoke, and exploring new places around the city.

Abigail Michelson, 2nd year resident (2022-2025):

Abigail Michelson is from Medfield, Massachusetts and she completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Smith College. She worked as a small animal veterinary technician/assistant for two years before going to veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts. She completed her clinical year at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. During her veterinary education, she was a research assistant on numerous projects including: gut microbiota of dogs fed a plant based diet, Aspergillus spp. infected sea fans, and Leptospirosis spp. in dogs in the greater Wisconsin area. Her clinical interests revolve around primates and rabbits and in her free time she enjoys cooking, running, drawing, and enjoying Broadway shows.

Noah Mishkin, 3rd year resident (2021-2024):

Noah is happy to return to NYC, having lived here prior to veterinary school. Noah’s appreciation for biomedical research was developed during his undergraduate research at Ithaca College. Here, he worked with a guinea pig model of myocardial infarction and provided husbandry care to atypical research models including snakes and arachnids. After graduation, Noah worked as an animal care technician and assistant facility manager at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Noah received his DVM from Colorado State University, where he continued to work with guinea pigs (this time as a model for tuberculosis). He is excited to return to MSK as part of the Tri-I Training Program to pursue professional interests in animal welfare, enrichment, and infectious disease. His current research investigates transmission of the murine bacterial pathogen Chlamydia muridarum and its impacts on research outcomes and animal health. In his free time, Noah enjoys exploring all NYC has to eat and drink, attending concerts, and playing board games.

Michael Palillo, 3rd year resident (2021-2024):

Michael is originally from Long Island, New York. Michael received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Delaware, where he worked as an Animal Care Technician, Lab Animal Technician, and Research assistant. These experiences helped to fuel his passion for biomedical research, where he cared for rodent models, while performing microbiome, nutritional efficacy, silage additive and bovine lactation studies on bovine and equine models.  He received his MS in Translational Pharmacology and DVM from The Ohio State University in 2021. His research interests include pharmacology, aquatics, antibiotic efficacy, and infectious diseases. He clinically has a strong interest in exotics, emergency medicine and aquatics. His current research project focuses on the treatment of Chlamydia muridarum in immunocompetent and immunodeficient murine models, as well as, the effect of treatment on the microbiome. He additionally is performing a descriptive study on fomite transmission of adventitious rodent diseases in the vivarium setting. During his free time, he enjoys exercising, hiking, scuba diving, concerts, horticulture and spending time with friends.
