This study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of combination chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy in children and young adults with newly diagnosed stage II-IV diffuse anaplastic Wilms' tumors (DAWT) or favorable histology Wilms' tumors (FHWT) that have come back (relapsed).
Researchers are assessing the best dose and benefit of DT2216 given with irinotecan chemotherapy in young people with cancer. DT2216 may help to kill cancer cells by blocking Bcl-xL, a protein that some cancers need to survive. Irinotecan is an anti-cancer drug that is part of the usual treatment for many cancers.
