About Me

I am a breast surgical oncologist who specializes exclusively in the treatment of breast diseases and performs all aspects of breast cancer surgery. I also have extensive experience in caring for people with benign disease. I see patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center in New York City and at MSK Westchester in West Harrison. At both locations, I work closely with my colleagues in radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, medical oncology, and radiation oncology to deliver the highest quality care to patients.

Over the past several years, I have been involved in clinical research focused on the surgical management of the axilla after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and methods to avoid axillary lymph node dissection in this patient population. My primary research interest has been the study of lymphedema in women with early-stage breast cancer. I have studied methods to detect early signs of lymphedema and how early detection impacts long-term quality of life.

I am currently the principal investigator of a prospective lymphedema surveillance study for the assessment and treatment of breast cancer-related lymphedema after axillary lymph node dissection. This study will begin accruing patients in September 2016 at the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center. My hope is that by better understanding the consequences and side effects of breast cancer treatment, we can work to enhance every patient’s quality of life.

Clinical Trials

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. For you, this could mean access to a new therapy or therapy combination. Click to see a list of the trials I’m currently leading.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
