Autumn C. Guyer, MD
Allergist & Immunologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Drug allergies can be very individual in nature; what one person reacts to will differ from what another person might react to — if they experience a reaction at all. I appreciate this aspect of treating and managing allergic reactions, and I understand that drug allergy can add a layer of complexity to the overall cancer treatment plan. For this reason, I take an individualized approach to the care of each patient.
I strive to provide personalized, high-quality medical attention that considers patients’ unique needs related to drug allergies and cancer therapy. I do this by taking a team-based approach that involves patients as shared decision-makers. In collaboration with their care team, we develop a holistic treatment plan that aligns with their preferences and goals.
Before coming to MSK, I served as the Clinical Chief of Allergy and Immunology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. Throughout the course of my career, I have led innovative treatment programs in drug allergy at multiple institutions. These initiatives have focused on optimizing drug allergy diagnosis by using various laboratory and skin testing procedures. Through research, I hope to improve care for patients with cancer and drug allergies, so they can safely receive essential antibiotics and treatments such as chemotherapy and cancer immunotherapy.
My work to advance the field of allergy and immunology — and more specifically, drug allergy — occurs not only in the laboratory and in the clinic, but also on a national level. I am a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), and I also serve as the Chair of the AAAAI’s Adverse Reactions to Drugs, Biologicals, and Latex Committee.
I received my undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and my medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. I completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my husband, twin boys, and family dog.
