Betty Ann Caravella, MD

About Me

I am a radiologist with expertise and specialized training in breast imaging and body imaging for cancer. I completed my fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I have been practicing radiology for more than 20 years. Working at MSK Commack is especially rewarding. I was raised in this community and have strong ties to it. I am proud to work with an outstanding team of clinicians and provide input at many points throughout my patients’ care, from diagnosis and staging to treatment and follow-up. We are able to provide convenient, timely breast screenings, diagnostic workups, biopsies, preoperative localizations for breast surgery, and follow-up imaging.

In addition, I contribute my skills in body imaging to several clinical trials testing new medicines that target mutations in metastatic breast cancer. The treatments can be combined with hormonal and traditional chemotherapy drugs. It is exciting to see promising progress with targeted therapies.

I am privileged to be a part of a team that is dedicated to providing the excellent care that MSK is known for closer to home for those in the Long Island community.

Clinical Trials

As home to one of the world’s top cancer research centers, Memorial Sloan Kettering is typically involved in more than 900 clinical trials at a given time. Currently, clinical trials focused on the conditions I treat are enrolling new patients. Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
