What I Do at MSK

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the psychological, behavioral, emotional, and social needs of people with cancer. In 2021, I founded the psychological services clinic at the Ralph Lauren Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) to provide support to adults receiving cancer treatment. A key reason for establishing this clinic was to enable people to access psychological services closer to home and in the same location where their other medical appointments are held.

A cancer diagnosis can be one of multiple medical conditions that people are faced with managing in the midst of other ongoing stressors. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, supportive therapy, and other approaches that have been shown to enhance coping. I collaborate with medical team members both inside and outside of MSK to address the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to how each person feels after a cancer diagnosis.

I lead research projects within the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service with the core goal of improving access to treatment after a cancer diagnosis. I am currently partnering with cancer care providers at other New York City hospitals to put interventions in place to help adults with cancer navigate immunotherapy and mental healthcare. In addition to conducting research, I am committed to mentoring and training junior faculty members, fellows, staff members, and undergraduate students.

Outside of MSK, I am a member of the American Psychological Association (Division 38, Society for Health Psychology), the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the American Psychosocial Oncology Society, and also serve on their committees.
