Radiology

I am a board-certified radiologist with expertise in abdominopelvic imaging. I have experience in a variety of medical imaging methods, including computed tomography (CT) scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, plain radiography, and virtual colonoscopy (also known as CT colonography).

Throughout my residency, fellowship, and post-fellowship practice, I focused on cancer imaging, given its pivotal role in detecting cancer, measuring its extent within the body, assessing response to therapy, and post-remission surveillance.

In my work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I collaborate closely with surgeons, oncologists, and other clinicians to evaluate patients with cancer. I have a deep understanding of just how important it is for the radiologist to be vigilant and thorough, especially in cancer imaging, where subtle changes across exams can reflect tumor response or resistance to therapy. The radiologist’s awareness of these small but important details can help treating clinicians make an early, needed decision to change the patient’s treatment protocol.

My cancer imaging research focuses on radiomics (mineable data from medical imaging) and other quantitative imaging techniques. In my studies, I strive to utilize quantitative imaging parameters (already obtained with each scan) that cannot be seen by the human eye but can help provide further information about the nature of a tumor and its aggressiveness. Providing this additional information to clinicians may help them make better therapeutic decisions, ultimately helping patients.
